The Lake Swim is scheduled for July 27, 2024
We’ll be starting at Crescent Beach around 8am for registration. Members and Guests of Members, young and old, are eligible to participate, and there is no charge to do so! You do not have to pre-register. Just show up ready to swim!
All swimmers or their parent or guardian, if under the age of 16, must sign a waiver. The waiver will be available at the registration desk that morning, and on the Club website now.
This is about the experience, not a race, so swim any way you can, and feel free to wear flippers or a life jacket if you want. Hitchhiking onto a passing canoe, paddle board, kayak, or motor boat is permitted if you need a break.
If you have medications, injectors, shoes, cell phones, or anything else that needs to get to the end of the swim, please give it to our safety officer at Crescent Beach before the Swim begins.
The planned start of the Swim is 8:30am. Right before we jump into the water, we will take the group photo and have a safety briefing. At the sound of the air horn, the swim begins. The Swim covers just under 3 kilometers, and ends at Zero Beach. Everyone who finishes gets applause and a dated participation medal.
We’ll be swimming along the North shore line. A line of motorized boats will maintain a 100′ perimeter and assist anyone who needs assistance. Anyone wishing to paddle their canoe, kayak, or paddle board with the swimmers is encouraged to do so, but please don’t crowd the swimmers themselves.
During the time of the Swim, 8:30am until 10:30am, all motor boat traffic is limited to slow-no-wake throughout the entire lake. No water skiing or tubing is permitted. Non-participating watercraft must keep at least 100′ from the swimmers and 25′ from other watercraft participating in the Swim.
Anyone willing to assist by using their boat to establish the safety perimeter should contact Craig Tiano. We have a number of boats, but we can always use more!
